Salary:  Scale 3, SCP 5-6, £24,790 – £25,183

Hours: Full time – 45 hours per week, term time only

Purpose of the Job:

Working with our young people, teaching them life skills, both on site and in the broader community, this role is based within our modern residential homes which are on site at this prestigious campus on the outskirts of Worcester – you could really help our students with a great start in life!

The role involves working as part of the residential team, wider staff community within the college and also with parents.

RESIDENTIAL KEY WORKER – Weekdays

45hrs per week, to be worked term time only, and between 07.00 on Monday to 18.00 on Friday plus an additional £40.76 per sleep in (maximum 3 per week).  Salary: Scale 3, SCP5-6, £24,790 – £25,183. (Salary will be pro rata)

Flexibility in Hours available, by mutual agreement. 

The role of Residential Key Worker is to work collaboratively within the Care team to provide a high standard of care to children and young people with a vision impairment.  You will create a positive environment for the delivery of the waking day curriculum and ensure high quality documentation with Care.  Working with students in a proficient and sensitive manner that will enhance both their academic and social development is an essential part of this role.

If the applicant is currently working with children, on either a paid or voluntary basis, their current employer will be asked about disciplinary offences relating to their suitability to work with children, including any for which the penalty is time expired (that is where a warning could no longer be taken into account in any new disciplinary hearing for example) and whether the applicant has been the subject of any child protection concerns which are founded / upheld.  If the applicant is not currently working with children, but has done so in the past, that previous employer will be asked about those issues.
